KALØVIG STRANDGÅRD CAMPING

Lots of experiences

When you have the caravan hitched up or booked a cabin, and the holiday destination is Kaløvig Strandgaard Camping on Djursland, there are many exciting things to see and experience. Both culturally and those that give krill in the stomach.

One of the most popular is clearly Djurs Sommerland, an eldorado for the playful. One of Denmark’s largest amusement parks with over 60 rides. Including slides, carousels, Dinosaurland, Pirateland, Asian Town, and outdoor water park are just some of the many options the park offers. Absolutely perfect for a day full of fun for the whole family.

Ree Park Safari is also really worth a visit. It is the animal park where you can experience many of the wild animals, including lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, penguins and rhinos. Their enclosures are so large that they have a good chance of being “wild”. You have the option of going on a jeep safari or on a train ride around the park and getting up close without disturbing the animals.

The Kattegat center is an aquarium where you can see many exciting, beautiful fish species and penguins. There are also pools where you can touch the fish. A few times a day there is also a show with the seals.

Mols Bjerge Djursland National Park is a beautiful and unique landscape with waves, hills, forests and animals. Many go here to hike, cycle or breathe and enjoy nature.

Kalø Slotsruin is also worth a visit. The ruin is from the Middle Ages and lies so beautifully by the water. The walk there alone is beautiful and pleasant. You can read the story, explore on your own, and enjoy the amazing view. At Gammel Estrup Herregårds Museum you can learn about the Danish way of life and agriculture through time. You should also not cheat yourself of a trip through the beautiful gardens and park areas. The exhibitions vary throughout the year, and there are e.g. a fantastic cozy Christmas exhibition in December, where they show many of the Danish Christmas traditions. A cabin or camping holiday on Djursland is certainly also exciting in winter.

Ebeltoft Old Town is a historic district with well-preserved buildings and streets from the 16th and 17th centuries. Here is a very special and cozy atmosphere, where you can combine the historical with a bit of shopping. They also have a wide selection of shops.

The old town in Aarhus is an opportunity to learn more about the Danes’ way of life through time.

All in all, the campsite’s location on Djursland is really good for sightseeing and relaxation.
